GW 4: Everton vs. Wolves

Image
There’s a big mid table clash coming up for us on matchweek four of the new Premier League season, with Wolves heading to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday. Both of these teams are expected to be in and around the Europa League spots, while many have actually touted them to break into the famous big 6, and that makes this game even more exciting for the neutral, despite the slightly disappointing starts from both sides. These teams haven’t been living up to their expectations in the opening weeks, with Everon on 4 points and Wolves on 3 after 3 gameweeks and they’ll have to make big improvements in their upcoming matches if they want to push forward and meet the high standards that they set last year. When these teams did face each other in the 2018/19 campaign, we saw some interesting results with Wolves winning when at Goodison Park but drawing on their own turf. The result was 2-2 when they met at Molineux with Everton surprisingly staying in the match after a Jagielka

GW 4: Chelsea vs. Sheffield United

Image
This weekend, for matchweek four of the new Premier League season, there are a number of top matchups that will be on show, but one that has perhaps gone under the radar slightly is Chelsea against Sheffield United. Although these teams are still very clearly far apart in terms of their skill levels and the quality of the players that they have, Sheffield United have looked like a surprisingly strong side in the opening few weeks, and they look like the type of team that could cause the big boys some problems, due to their solid defensive organization and their confusing but effective tactics. Interestingly, Sheffield United are actually ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League table at the moment by goal difference and the two sides are tied on 4 points each; however, Sheffield have admittedly played against weaker opposition and it will be interesting to see if they can keep their lead. These sides have only ever played against each other twice in the Premier League, and these m

GW 4: Arsenal vs. Tottenham

This upcoming week, on matchweek four of the 2019/20 Premier League season, Tottenham travel to the Emirates for the first North London derby of the new campaign. This is always a very exciting fixture not just for fans of the respective clubs but also for the neutral, but this year, this game could be even more important, as both sides are heavily competing for Champions League places, and given how close it was last season, these early fixtures could have a lasting effect for the rest of the campaign. Neither team has quite had the start that they would have dreamed of, especially as they both endured losses in matchweek three, and with the heavy expectations placed on their shoulders after seemingly successful summer windows, this game could be crucial if they are to meet those expectations. This fixture always provides unexpected twists and last year, Arsenal won the home game against their rivals while they drew when away, and despite the Gunnars finishing in 5th, behind Sp

GW 3: Wolves vs. Burnley

Image
The final game of matchweek three in the 2019/20 Premier League season is between Wolves and Burnley and this tie is set to be very interesting, as it’s between two sides who are perceived as very difficult to play against. Neither team has had their ideal start to the new season; however, they have both seen decent results against tough opposition and they will be looking to progress further as the season goes on. These sides are definitely expected to be well clear of the relegation zone this campaign, and while Wolves will be pushing to get into the Europa League yet again, Burnley will probably be aiming for a mid-table finish, considering they ended up in 17th last year in what was quite a poor season. When these sides went head to head in 2018/19, they won one a piece, with each side coming out on top when at home. These fixtures included a 2-0 win to Burnley at Turf Moor, and a 1-0 win for Wolves when at Molineux, and although Wolves finished 8 places ahead of Burnley las

GW 3: Brighton vs. Southampton

Image
This weekend on matchweek three of the 2019/20 Premier League season, we have a limited number of big game fixtures compared to previous weeks, so mid table clash Brighton vs. Southampton could be one to keep an eye on. Both of these sides have looked promising in the opening weeks of the season and while they might have struggled last year, they look to be on the up during this new campaign. While Brighton have started out with a win and a draw, Southampton have not been as fortunate with their results, after two losses from the opening two weeks. However; the managers of both sides are forward-thinking and exciting, and because of this, you’d expect the teams to get better as the season progresses. In the past, this fixture has been very even, and in the last four Premier League games between them there have been 3 draws and 1 win for Southampton. Southampton won the most recent game though, which can largely be credited to new manager Ralph Hassenhuttl who came in midway thro

GW 3: Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Image
The third matchweek of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign is set to keep the season going in style, and the big game this week is between Liverpool and Arsenal. Both sides have started the season strongly with six points from six and they’ll be looking to continue this; however, one, or both of them will have to let this record go by the end of the game. While Liverpool are definitely the favourites and are considered to be one of the two teams who are most likely to win the league this year, Arsenal have a lot to prove and given the smart signings that they made in the summer, it’s highly probable that they’ll be able to make the Champions League spots and possibly push their rivals Tottenham for third. Last season, Liverpool were the better side when they played Arsenal, and although they drew 1-1 when at the Emirates, Liverpool dominated in a 5-1 victory at Anfield. This is similar to what we have seen over recent years, as in the past three Premier League seasons, the sides

GW 2: Wolves vs. Manchester United

Image
The Premier League is back with a bang this week after a stunning matchweek one and Wolves vs. Manchester United is set to end the second matchweek of this season in style. With European football the end goal for both of these sides, you can see that they are two of the best in the league at the moment and given the form that they are both going through currently, it looks like we’re in for a thrilling match. We still don’t exactly know what to expect from these sides in terms of where they’ll finish this season, as it’s only matchweek two, but United performed better in week one and look set to improve on their previous season while Wolves look to be just as good if not better than they were last year. In the past, These sides have faced each other 10 times in the Premier League with United winning 6 of these, however; last season Wolves were the dominant side in this fixture, winning at Molineux, and drawing at Old Trafford. This is largely due to Wolves manager Nuno Espirito
