GW 35: Everton vs. Manchester United

Image
We’re into the final few weeks of the season now and this weekend we have an exciting Premier League fixture for us between Everton and Manchester United. Both sides have some very talented players at their disposal but have had slightly disappointing campaigns so far that have left Everton in 9th and United in 6th as they’ll be fighting to improve in order to climb up the table. When these sides have met in the past, Everton haven’t faired brilliantly and in the last 5 Premier League matches between them Everton are winless, as United have won 3 and 2 have come out as draws. One of these United victories came earlier on this season, in the reverse fixture in Manchester, where United came out on top 2-1 in a fairly convincing win. In this match, the teams took an equal number of shots with 14, but United were shooting from far more promising areas with 10 of their shots coming on target to their opponents 6, while they also managed 2.51 expected goals while Everton managed 1.67. GW 35: Manchester City vs. Tottenham

As the season winds down the title race seems to get more intense by the day and next week we have a huge fixture that could potentially decide who becomes champion as Manchester City are at home to Tottenham. This is one of the highest quality games left in the season and it is crucial for both teams involved as well as a few other sides who could be affected by the result. In the past, City have dominated in this fixture winning all of their last 3 Premier League matches against their opponents while they’ve also only lost 1 of their last 6 in all competitions against the North London side. However, although City won the reverse fixture in the league, just last week they lost to Tottenham in the Champions League in a match that saw Pochettino’s tactics outdo Guardiola’s. This match was quite a dull affair but Pochettino got his game plan absolutely spot on and while City managed to dominate possession with 59%, they were limited to 10 shots with only coming 2 on target while Tot

GW 34: Liverpool vs. Chelsea

This weekend we have a massive top of the table clash coming up for us as Chelsea travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday. Both sides are enduring their own separate battles at the moment as Liverpool have a big chance of winning the league this year while Chelsea are fighting for a place in the top 4 in order for them to obtain Champions League football for next season. The sides are quite close in the league table as has been the case over the past few seasons and in the last 6 matches between them, Chelsea have won two while Liverpool have won one with the other three coming out as draws. One of these draws came in the reverse fixture earlier this campaign in which they drew 1-1 in a truly dramatic match that saw Liverpool come back in the 89th minute. In this game Liverpool edged possession with 53% while they also took 13 shots to Chelsea’s 10 and managed 6 on target compared to Chelsea’s 4, however, Chelsea did come out on top in terms of expected goals, winning 1.78

GW 34: Manchester United vs. West Ham

The Premier League is back with us again this weekend and one of the stand out games that we have in store for us is Manchester United against West Ham. Although these teams are quite distant in the table, with United in 6th and West Ham in 11th with a total of 19 points between the two sides West Ham still have a tremendous amount of individual talent in their squad and are definitely capable of causing an upset in this match. They’ve managed some good results against United in the past as well, winning 1 and drawing 2 of the last 6 between them and although this isn’t a brilliant record it shows that the match does not have a forgone conclusion and that the Hammers can compete against the bigger sides. The last match between the sides was actually the one West Ham win which came back in September as United weren’t at the top of their game, losing 3-1. In this match. In this match, United were firmly dominated in the middle of the park only managing 51% possession and although th

GW 33: Everton vs. Arsenal

We have a limited amount of Premier League games for us this weekend but we certainly won’t be lacking quality with one of these games being Everton against Arsenal. The sides are both fairly far up the table with Arsenal climbing to 4th while Everton are back in 10th after a resurgence in form from them, making this a crucial match for the sides if they are going to achieve their separate ambitions. Over the past few years, Arsenal have firmly dominated against Everton and in the last 6 matches between the sides Arsenal have won 5 with Everton’s only win in this period coming back in 2016. Interestingly, Everton have actually obtained 3 red cards in this period as well and although this trend is likely not to continue we could see fireworks in this match like we have in the past. The earlier match this season between the sides ended in a 2-0 win for Arsenal and although this scoreline seems quite convincing, Everton were perhaps the better side for the ma

GW 33: Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace

The Premier League is straight back with us after a weekend filled with drama and on Wednesday Spurs take on Palace in a London derby. Tottenham are currently well above their city rivals in the league with 25 points and 10 places separating the sides, however, based on recent form Palace look equal than their opponents if not better. Tottenham have firmly dominated this fixture in the past though with Spurs winning all of the last 5 Premier League games between them while also managing to win 11 of their total 19 Premier League meetings. Also, each of these last 5 were all won by a scoreline of 1-0 showing that Spurs have been very consistent over this period but also that Palace have never been outclassed by their opponents and it’s stayed a tense fixture for some while now. When the sides last met in the Prem Spurs won, as you might have guessed, by a scoreline of 1-0 in a match in which Spurs were the better side, however, by a slight margin. The sides took an equal number of
