Champions League Final Special - Tottenham vs. Liverpool

Image
The Champions League final. The ultimate game of the world’s most elite club competition, and the first all English Champions League final since 2007/08, when Manchester United triumphed over Chelsea. We’ve had an incredible Champions League campaign this year and after two superb semi-final matchups, the tournament is coming to a close for yet another year, hopefully in dramatic fashion. In this year’s final we have a side with vast experience in this competition in Liverpool, and a newcomer to this elite stage in Spurs, who are playing their first ever Champions League final. These two sides are rivals in the Premier League meaning they’ve already played each other twice this season, and in these matches, Liverpool managed to come out on top on both occasions. The matches ended with identical 2-1 scorelines, and honestly, given the way that Liverpool played over this period, they might’ve even deserved more from the matches as they played at a very high level. Liverpool managed

GW 38: Brighton vs. Manchester City

The final week of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign. A great chance for Manchester City to grab the title on the last week of the season as they travel to Brighton on Sunday. This could end up as a historic match, particularly if City lose, because the gap between the top two sides, Manchester City and Liverpool, is only one point at the moment, meaning either side could win the title at the last moment. Brighton and City have only faced each other five times in their history and when they have played, it hasn’t looked good for Brighton who have only won once, which was all the way back in a cup fixture in 2008. The last four matches between them have been more recent (over the past two seasons) and Manchester City have won all of these, proving their dominance over the Seagulls. The reverse fixture between the sides earlier in the season ended in a 2-0 Manchester City win and City were fairly comfortable throughout the match, without facing too much threat from their opposition

GW 38: Liverpool vs. Wolves

It’s all come down to the final week of the Premier League season. An extraordinary title race that has left Liverpool one singular point behind reigning champions Manchester City as they look towards their concluding match of the season. No matter what, Liverpool will have to win this match if they are looking to obtain the Premier League trophy but it won’t be easy considering they are up against the proposition of 7th place Wolves, who have been in top form lately. Also, Wolves won the last match between the sides; however, this was an FA cup game in which Liverpool were resting quite a few of their key players, and in the earlier Premier League game between them, Liverpool managed to come out on top. Liverpool won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Wolves’ home ground in a very solid victory for a Liverpool side who were playing brilliantly around that time of year. Liverpool took 15 shots to Wolves’ 11 while they also managed 1 more on target and with an expected goals score of 2.16

GW 37: Manchester City vs. Leicester

On this upcoming Monday we have a crucial game in store for us in the Premier League title race as current top team Manchester City are going to face mid table side Leicester. City are the better side in almost all areas of the game; however, in recent years they’ve struggled against Leicester and although they’ve won 4 of their last 6 against their upcoming opponents none of these wins have come in the last 2 matches between them. Leicester also won the earlier Premier League match between them this season in a very interesting match around Christmas time. Leicester played superbly in this match and they managed a deserved 2-1 scoreline proving their strength as well as their capacity to upset bigger sides. They took 1 less shot than City in the match but they had 1 more on target while expected goals shows that they created marginally better chances with a predicted result of 1.56 to 1.35. Also, although City were allowed to dominate possession with 67% Leicester’s ability to co

GW 37: Chelsea vs. Watford

With only two game-weeks remaining in the Premier League season, fine margins are starting to make the difference all across the league table and one of the more crucial top of the table clashes is coming up for us this weekend as Chelsea take on Watford. Chelsea have managed to sneak back into the top four following a rise in form from them while the opposite has happened to Watford as they’ve dropped off slightly over the last few weeks which has left them in 10th place. Due to this form Chelsea come into the match looking like the favourites when a month or so ago Watford actually looked the stronger side and would have had the backing of most people. In recent times Chelsea have managed to get the better of the Hornets as they’ve won 4 of the last 6 matches between them while Watford have only won once proving that they have struggled against the London side in the past. This includes the reverse fixture where Chelsea won 2-1 in what was a pretty deserved win. In the match Che
