GW 14: Liverpool vs. Everton

Image
Another brilliant derby game to watch this weekend is Liverpool against Everton. With both teams really looking good lately this clash looks to be a crucial fixture for both sides to sustain their form. Liverpool of course are still unbeaten after the first 13 matches and are in 2nd place, only 2 points behind the incredible Manchester City. Everton are also playing very well at the moment winning 5 of their last 7 matches. Their only loss in this period came against Manchester United when they lost 2-1. Marco Silva has clearly built up some form within this Everton side as they have made a huge improvement from the start of the season where they only won 1 of their first 6 games. In the Premier League era, Liverpool have dominated this fixture with 22 Liverpool wins and only 9 wins for Everton, along with 21 draws. You might expect it to be a similar story this time, but Everton have a number of ways that they could get a surprise victory. As mentioned before, Liverpool are cur

Arsenal vs. Tottenham

Arsenal vs. Tottenham. The North London Derby. Expected to be a brilliant match this weekend as it’s the first North London derby of the season. Both teams are in good form off the back of good wins against difficult opponents and at the moment, only 2 places separates the 2 sides. It looks like it could be one of the most interesting yet tense, North London derbies of all time. Over the last few years this has been an incredibly even contest with 3 draws 1 Arsenal win and 2 Tottenham wins over the last 6 matches. For Tottenham this is a big improvement. In the 52 Premier League matches between the sides Arsenal have won 19 and Spurs have won 12 with 21 draws. This shows that in recent years the North London derby has been closer than ever and also, that Spurs are rapidly improving. Arsenal finally got a win last weekend against Bournemouth after 3 league draws in a row. This means that yet again, they have extended their unbeaten run to 17 in all competitions As well as 11 in t

GW 13: Bournemouth vs. Arsenal

Image
Bournemouth against Arsenal is the final game that I’m going to cover this week. These teams are only separated by 1 place in the Premier League at the moment with Arsenal in 5th and Bournemouth in 6th making it a very important fixture. In the last 6 meetings between the two teams Arsenal have won 4 Bournemouth have won 1 and there has been 1 draw. More recently though, in the last 3 meetings, each team has won 1 and there has been 1 draw. The last meeting between the two sides was a 2-1 victory for Bournemouth last year. This shows that in recent years Bournemouth have started to improve (particularly against Arsenal) and their recent form against Arsenal shows that they could come out on top in this match. With both teams coming into this match in poor form it becomes crucial that they get the 3 points if they want to keep their Europa League spot. Bournemouth come into this match losing their last 2 matches, losing 2-1 to both Newcastle and Manchester United. This is very poor,

GW 13: Watford vs. Liverpool

Watford against Liverpool is definitely a clash to look out for and is one of the best games of the weekend. With Liverpool unbeaten so far and with Watford having an exceptional season at the moment we could be in for a thriller of a match. The clash is even further intensified by the fact that Watford are at home where they have won 4 and lost 2 in the PL. This is a decent record especially considering that they have beaten Spurs at their home ground as well as having a plus 7 goal difference. Liverpool on the other hand, have been almost as solid when they’ve been away as they have been when at home winning 5 and drawing 1 at home,  winning 4 and drawing 2 away. Watford have dropped off in form recently, which was expected after having such a surprisingly good start, and have only won 2 and drawn 1 of their previous 6 matches and Liverpool will need to take advantage of this dry spell. Although they are on the decline they still sit in 7th place level on points with Manchester U

GW 13: Tottenham vs. Chelsea

Image
The big match this week is undoubtedly Tottenham against Chelsea. This heavyweight clash between 3rd and 4th place is a huge match for both teams especially with Tottenham only 1 point behind Chelsea after their recent win over Palace. Although Chelsea are still unbeaten after 12 matches, they have suffered 4 ties so far which has allowed Tottenham to close the gap and move in on this excellent Chelsea side. Recently, this has been an incredible clash, and in the last 6 Premier League meetings between the sides Chelsea have won 2, Tottenham have won 2 and they’ve drawn on 2 occasions. Surprisingly, last season Chelsea won their away game against Spurs and lost the home match which shows that at least last year, the venue didn’t affect the result of the match. Tottenham have now won their last 2 Premier League games after they lost 1-0 to Man City a couple of weeks ago, and have now won 6 of their last 7 games a record that runs all the way back to their loss against Liverpool in
